Alexandra started writing at two years old when she started telling her mother bedtime stories. Her creative depth and voice as a writer was obvious then and only grew. Always dabbling in short stories and plays, she was also very active on the stage, performing in musicals at age 7. She has appeared in independent films and some television, but she was always writing. She wrote her first feature-length screenplay at 14. Her favorite roles played as an adult are Duke Frederick in As You Like It and Ms. Andrew in Mary Poppins.
She spent the first half of her life in NYC, attending the theatre on a very regular basis - seeing more musicals than she can count.
Alexandra is a devoted student of World War II, since reading Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. She is mesmerized by the experiences of everyday people who overcame such great odds and still believed in the beauty of humanity. One of her fondest times was spent at Pearl Harbor listening to the Veterans’ stories.
Currently, she splits her time between Texas and New York and is finishing her BFA this year in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting and Playwriting at Texas State University and moving on to an MFA program in the near future. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and spends her free time caring for her blind-and-toothless rescue dog, Tamale.
